Pack up the family and head to the waterfront of Warea where there is a handful of traditional kiwi baches and an awesome laid back surfer and fishing vibe. Situated right on the waterfront and oh so tranquil and relaxing. Home to the replica Cape Egmont Light House/Museum, with the real light house been a 5 minute drive along the coast road. Next door to cape Egmont boat club, enjoy Friday dinner at the club house (open labour weekend through to easter).
A play ground for surfers, paddleboards, windsurfers, kayaks and jet skis. 5 minute drive to some of the best surf breaks, Stent and Kina Roads.30 minute drive to New Plymouth. 20 minutes to Opunake.
Make sure you load the car with the food, the games, fishing rods and get away from the stresses of everyday life.
